The Eero WiFi system is designed to replace your existing router; however, if your current router has advanced features that you rely on, you can put the Eero in bridge mode. This will allow you to continue using your standard router while providing Eero’s excellent mesh WiFi coverage.
Depending on how your network is organized, you can encounter certain conflicts in which the two compete for resources simultaneously. Putting either one of them into eero bridge mode is a potential solution to those concerns if that is the case.
Some users may want to continue using their router’s features and settings rather than relying on Eero, especially considering that the Eero app does not offer a lot in the way of advanced features. You can put your primary router in bridge mode instead of the Eero, which will push your internet connection right through the router and let Eero handle everything on your network. Putting the Eero in bridge mode is this scenario’s most effective course of action.
Why do you need to put Eero in Bridge Mode?
By switching your Eero network to bridge mode, you will be able to continue operating your network using the router you have been using up until now. Clients with particular network setups need to choose this method, despite the fact that we do not usually encourage it because you will lose access to some advanced capabilities of Eero. You should switch your modem/router combo device into bridge mode if you have one of these devices.
By switching an Eero to bridge mode, network services can be disabled without interfering with the device’s ability to continue functioning as a WiFi access point. You need to remember that if your eeros are set to bridge mode, you will not be able to use the eero app to handle the advanced capabilities of your network. In addition, the bridge mode demands that one of the Eero devices continue to have its Ethernet cable connected to the network. When you are wondering how to setup eero in bridge mode, your network setup should remain unchanged; this means all connections must be routed through a single Gateway eero.
There are a few circumstances in which you will be forced to bridge your eeros, and they are as follows:
AT&T U-Verse, which provides WiFi and DHCP, is your service provider.
Your provider requires PPPoE*
Your Internet service provider requires a unique MAC address that is compatible with the equipment they offer.

How to build a bridge over your eeros
Establish your own Eero network by following the steps outlined in the eero app’s setup procedure.
Note: If your network configuration requires eero bridge mode to function, you must set up your eero network by double NATing it. If this is the case, follow the instructions above. You can get a complete rundown of the steps necessary to do this here.
To bridge your eeros, please follow the given instructions:
Launch the eero app and select Settings from the menu (bottom right corner)
Utilize the Advanced button.
Tap DHCP & NAT
You should change your setting from Automatic, which is the preferred option, to Bridge or Manual (for those running static IP)
To save your changes, click the ‘Save’ button in the upper right corner.
How to Configure Your Eero to Work as a Bridge
When you set your eero pro bridge mode, you can maintain the independent mesh WiFi network that you have set up on it; however, most of the features are disabled. This includes the capability to limit internet access to particular family members and set up port forwarding and mess with other advanced features.
When bridge mode is enabled, your Eeros function as nothing more than mesh extenders for the network that they are connected to.
Start by launching the Eero app on your phone, then navigate to the app’s settings by tapping on the menu button in the screen’s top-right corner. Bridge mode will then be enabled.
It will be necessary to restart your Eero system; however, once it has done so, it will enter Eero in Bridge Mode, and your existing router will be responsible for performing all network-related tasks.
From this point forward, all that your Eero system will do is offer you a simple mesh WiFi network to which you can connect. However, you will still have access to your original router if you ever need to adjust to more complex aspects of your network.
It is also important to keep in mind that your Eero will continue to broadcast a WiFi network that is distinct from the WiFi network that is broadcast by your primary router. Because of this, you must disable the wireless signal broadcast by your router to prevent any interference. You don’t want your old router to function as a wireless router; instead, you want it to behave more like a cable router. The Eero will take care of everything related to wireless connectivity for you.
